Book Awards

An award win can help kickstart a creator’s career, and strengthen a publisher’s brand in the industry. Perhaps most importantly, it raises awareness of the winning book across Canada, helping it find its way to a greater audience of young readers. Creators can have their work submitted for consideration through their publisher.

“I was honoured to receive the Amy Mathers Teen Book Award for The House of One Thousand Eyes. It was a huge source of validation for me. Of course, the publicity has helped to bring the novel to readers who might otherwise not have heard of it. But more than that, to be able to say that Amy Mathers stands behind my work makes it feel solid. I am deeply appreciative of the opportunities that have come my way as a result.” —Michelle Barker
