EVERY DAY HEROES: Junior Kindergarten – Grade 5

These days everyone wants to be a ‘superhero’ but did you know you don’t need superpowers to be an everyday hero? In this presentation Rukhsana dives deep into how her words and the artists’ illustrations help tell two powerful stories about kids being kind to the people around them. (This presentation features Rukhsana’s highly acclaimed book BIG RED LOLLIPOP. This book won both awards in America for best picture book story and was chosen by the New York Public Library as one of the 100 greatest children’s books in the last 100 years!)

COMING TO CANADA: Grades 3-8

In this presentation students will realize that dreams can indeed come true—with a lot of good hard work and the help of a library card! Students will hear the story of how Rukhsana took advantage of every educational opportunity that came her way, and how she went from a poor ESL student to an award-winning Canadian author with many of her books published in countries around the world.
