Workshop #1: CHARACTER BUILDING/SKETCHES.

In this workshop, our aim is to teach and have students (typically middle school or high school, usually grades 7-8) start sketching their own characters while learning the elements of how we made our characters Ria and Rani (from Sisters of the Snake and Daughters of the Dawn), as well as how to apply the layering technique. Includes 3 writing activities, worksheets provided. 1 hour long (time for Q&A included).

Workshop #2: CRAFTING STORY IDEAS FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCES.

In this workshop aimed at grades 7-8 or ages 12+, we will discuss how we incorporated our own experiences into our books, including being twins and our Indian heritage. We will also discuss how students can create fictional stories that incorporate their personal experiences and histories, which makes for a full-feeling story. Includes 3 writing activities, worksheets provided. 1 hour long (time for Q&A included).
