Apply to Host a Creator
If you’ve got a young audience who wants to hear from the creators of great books for kids and teens, you could be the perfect host for a Book Week event. Hosts get the chance to have an in-depth discussion with one of Canada’s talented authors, illustrators, or storytellers.
Here’s who can apply to host a Canadian creator for our upcoming Book Week tour:
Schools
Public libraries
Community groups
Literacy Networks
Family centres
Homeschooling associations
Other organizations involved with Canadian youth books and literacy.
NOTE: The 2023 edition of Book Week will take place in a hybrid format: ten creators will be touring in person and twenty-two creators will be touring virtually.

Eligibility
All Canadian schools, libraries, bookstores, community centres, and community organizations are eligible to apply to host a Book Week visit.
Important Dates

We announce our tour roster in November each year.

The host application process opens in December.

The application deadline typically falls in mid-January, 3-4 months before the start of Book Week.
